The Authored Life

A 12-week structured passage for people
who have glimpsed what's possible and haven't
figured out how to make it last.

You know the feeling.

There have been moments at retreats, in meditation, on long walks in nature, in conversations where the connection felt electric and you both felt deeply seen. In these moments, life felt like it was finally working the way it was supposed to. Things felt real, alive, meaningful. As if the world and you were briefly speaking the same language.

And then Monday came. The feeling thinned. Within a week it was a memory. Within a month you were back in the same life loops, asking the same questions, looking for the same experience.

You've done this enough times to notice the pattern.

You've also noticed something more uncomfortable: the seeking itself has started to feel like the problem.

The next teacher. The next framework. The next limiting belief to clear. The next manifestation method. You don't doubt your sincerity, you've done real work, you've had real breakthroughs, but somewhere along the way the spiritual life became a way of avoiding actual life. The retreats kept happening. But life didn't change.

There's an unnamable feeling underneath all of it. You don't say it out loud often. Sometimes it sounds like:

Why doesn't this just work?

Why does it have to be this hard?

I don't think I even belong in this world.

That last one is the one almost no one puts words to. The half-conscious sense that you're in the wrong life, on the wrong planet, running the wrong operating system. Like you were dropped into a story written by someone else and you've been trying to make it yours ever since without success.

You're not crazy. You're not ungrateful. You're not failing at spirituality.

You're at a threshold, and almost no one is teaching what's on the other side of it.

What's actually happening

The thing you keep glimpsing is real. The aliveness, the sense of being seen, the deep knowing that life is meant to be more than this… these are not states to chase. They are the natural condition of a particular configuration: presence that's grounded in what's actually here, real choice that isn't driven by old material, intuition that's actually online, and joy as the operating signal of a life working correctly.

The reason you can't make those moments last is not that you need better techniques, deeper healing, or more advanced teachings. It's that the moments are the natural products of capacities you have not yet been trained in.

Most spiritual work in the contemporary marketplace optimizes for producing the experience. Peak states. Sudden openings. Insights. It gets very good at creating temporary moments at a 4-day seminar. It is almost entirely silent on what happens after the moment ends. It treats the spiritual life as something you go "do" outside of the "real world" instead of being the ground from which you actually live your day-to-day .

The Authored Life is about what happens after the peak moments end.

It is about becoming the kind of person who lives from those moments rather than visiting them. Not by intensifying your practice. Not by upgrading your identity or clearing even more beliefs. But by undergoing a structured passage through the four capacities a deliberately-lived life actually requires.

When those capacities come online, the moments stop being moments. They become how you live.

The four capacities

The Authored Life is built around four moves, in order. None can be skipped. Each builds on the one before.

Presence. Most of what people call their life is actually a fog of inherited narrative, assumptions, conditioning, and projection through which they read everything. This fog kills possibility, aliveness, and real connection. Presence is what becomes available when that fog thins. Not as a peak state. As your operating ground. This is the vertical shift β€” the move from living inside perception to standing in actual contact with what's outside it. Once this distinction is felt, it cannot be unfelt.

Pure Choice. Most of what people call choice is something else: old material trying to complete itself, fear avoiding itself, identity protecting itself. Pure Choice is what becomes possible when presence is stable enough to interrupt that mechanism. It is the experience of being lucid in a dream, seeing the actual pathways available in any moment, including the ones normally invisible, and choosing without indoctrination or programming. It is the moment true authorship comes online. This is the threshold of The Authored Life. The pivot from waking up to living from the wakefulness.

Intuition. With presence established and Pure Choice accessible, something that has always been speaking to you becomes audible. Intuition is not mystical messaging. It is preverbal contact with what is actually happening β€” what's opening, what's closing, what direction has weight, what move has the greatest leverage. Most people either ignore this signal or rationalize it before it can speak. Once it becomes usable, co-creation stops being a marketing word. It becomes a description of your daily relationship with reality.

Joy. Joy in The Authored Life is not a mood, a reward, or a mood-management strategy. It is the felt signature of authorship working correctly. It is the baseline of a human functioning how we were designed to function. When perception is clear, choice is pure, and intuition is online, life starts to follow what could be called the path of least resistance β€” not laziness, but the line through reality that has aliveness in it. Joy is the signal that you're on it. You can feel reality opening for you rather than resisting you. The integration phase of TAL is learning to navigate by joy without confusing it with comfort, and to build a life shape that runs on aliveness rather than waiting for it to occasionally show up.

These four capacities, undergone in sequence inside a small witnessed cohort, constitute the structured passage The Authored Life provides.

It is not a content course. It is a transformation.

Vision Quest opens the work

Before any work on the four capacities begins, you have to know what they're for. Vision Quest is how you find out.

The first three days of the cohort are a guided Vision Quest β€” three consecutive days, three hours each day, online, live. This is non-negotiable. Participants who cannot attend Vision Quest cannot enter the cohort.

Vision Quest uses the shamanic technique of death as an advisor. We move through escalating time horizons, contemplating what life would become within certain time constraints. Each constraint reveals something true for you, sometimes surprising, about what matters to you most deeply and why you're here.

What surfaces, every time, is a consistent pattern of six movements:

  • Love deeply
  • Live fully
  • Explore widely
  • Express truly
  • Serve wholly
  • Build what endures

These are not concepts I'm imposing. They emerge from inside the process. By the end of the weekend, you have a clear, embodied sense of what your life is actually for β€” not what you've been told it should be for. You see, with unusual clarity, what you've been avoiding and what you've been postponing, and what you need to do next.

This becomes the orienting frame for the rest of the 12 weeks. The four capacities are what we're developing. The six movements from your Vision Quest are what we're developing them for.

Inside the cohort

The Authored Life is small by design. The founding cohort is capped at fifteen people. There will not be more.

The container has three parts:

Weekly live class

60 to 90 minutes. Video. We work the four capacities together, in real time. I teach, but I do not deliver content. I show up to the work alongside you. Every cohort, I do my own version of Vision Quest. I bring my own challenges into the room when they serve. The container holds because we are all in it together.

Telegram channel

Daily presence. This is where the cohort lives between calls. Voice notes, witnessed work, in-the-moment support, shared notes from the field. I post mid-week voice memos. You bring what's alive in you. The other people in the cohort are in it with you, and they will see you the way the people closest to you in your life never quite manage to.

The Bear Butte pilgrimage

Each year I make a pilgrimage to Bear Butte and the Badlands β€” high-energy land where I have done some of my most important work, with people I trust. Members of the founding cohort will be invited to join the pilgrimage as a separate post-cohort offering. Three to six seats. We meet up in Rapid City. We hike, camp, and we work with the wisdom of holy sites and power spots.

This is not included in TAL. It is offered to those who are ready, when they are ready, during the cohort.

Who this is for

The Authored Life is for you if:

  • You have had real spiritual experiences β€” peak states, retreat openings, glimpses you can't fully explain β€” and they will not hold in your daily life
  • You have begun to suspect that your spiritual seeking has become its own form of avoidance
  • You have tried manifestation, mindset work, limiting-belief clearing, and they have stopped feeling true
  • You are tired of horizontal moves between teachers and frameworks where it's the same old stuff, just different packaging
  • You are willing to let your life change if you stop avoiding what matters

The Authored Life is not for you if:

  • You are new to spiritual or contemplative work and looking for an introduction
  • You are looking for techniques without commitment
  • You are looking for a guru, a transmission you can sit back and receive, or a group that will do the work for you
  • You are in a season of acute mental health crisis that requires professional support before this kind of work can land

If you are not sure whether you are ready, the question that follows is the one to sit with.

Am I ready to let my life change if I stop avoiding what matters?

There is no right answer. Not yet is a complete response.

If not yet is true, this is not the right cohort for you. There will be others.

If yes is true β€” even if it's a whispered, scared yes β€” keep reading.

What it costs

The founding cohort of The Authored Life is $2,500.

Future cohorts will be $3,000 and up. This isn't a marketing device β€” it's how the program is being designed. The founding cohort gets to enter when the work is at its most direct and unfiltered, in the smallest, most intimate version of the work possible. You get more of my direct attention, and you shape what this becomes for everyone who comes after.

A 3-payment plan is available at $875 per month for three months.

There are no upsells, bonus tiers, or additional purchases. The price you see is the whole offer.

Travel and accommodation for the optional Bear Butte pilgrimage are separate.

What you walk out with

By the end of the 12 weeks, you will have actually undergone β€” not read about, not discussed, but undergone β€” the four-move arc. Specifically:

  • A felt distinction between perception and presence that cannot be unfelt
  • The lived experience of Pure Choice as a recoverable capacity, not a peak state
  • An emerging fluency with intuition as a usable signal in actual decisions
  • A relationship with joy as an effective navigation tool, not a destination
  • Decisions that previously took weeks of agonizing happen in minutes, and they turn out to be the right ones
  • Specific projects, relationships, or commitments you've been avoiding either move or are released β€” cleanly, not dramatically
  • A return to a sense of your own life as interesting and fulfilling, not exhausting
  • A clear sense of what your life is actually for, anchored in the six movements that surfaced in your own Vision Quest
  • A small group of people who have witnessed your highest truth and cannot un-see it β€” the cohort itself becomes a permanent resource

You will not leave The Authored Life as a better version of who you were. You will leave as someone who has stopped being who you were and started being Who and What You Actually Are.

This is what the glimpses have been pointing at all along.

Apply for the founding cohort

Applications for the founding cohort are open now. The cohort begins June 12th with the Vision Quest weekend.
